Week 1: My template
I chose this feminine template for its chic look, and unapologetic alignment with my gender. While, I'm not always considered to be a "girly, girl" I identify with my theme as it seems to state: "I AM MODERN WOMAN."
Stylish, clean, the make-up theme portrays societies most obvious masking tools. Lipstick and foundation are simultaneously instruments of hiding flaw, portraying a contrived, albeit true beauty. Cosmetics are the artist tools to reflect imagination as much as water colors and pastels. Colors are portrayed at face-level, projecting mood over a careful contour of substance.

Hi Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI really like the look of this blog. Pink and black have a way of looking soft and strong together, sort of like yin and yang. I love your analogy of make-up and society's masking of flaws. What great potential for social commentary!
Hi Ashley!
ReplyDeleteLovely template, I agree with the pink and black being strong and feminine. I am looking forward to reading your blog ! I think your font is a strong choice as well.
Ashley,
ReplyDeleteLove the colors on your blog. Your explanation for choosing the theme is also very thoughtful. Pink and black are strong colors. Looking forward to reading more.
